3.1/70
4.3/70
5. None of these

Answers:
1.  Tank filled by pipe A in one hour = 1/8
Tank emptied by pope B in one hour = 1/12
Tank filled in one hour =(1/8) – (1/12) = 1/24
Tank will be filled in 24 hours.

2.  840

3. Let one of the numbers be 5x
The other number must be 3x
Difference = 18
5x - 3x = 18
x = 9
The numbers = 45 and 27

Product = 1215

4.
    T = 45 years

5. we know that
Area of the semi-circle = π×r22
Perimeter of semi-circle = π × r + 2× r
According to the question
π × r + 2× r = 66 cm
r × [π +2] = 66
r = 12.83
Area of the semi-circle = [π × (12.83)2]/2 = 258.56 cm2
So the correct answer is (5).

6.
Let the Average of age of the 12 persons be x
Average = {(Sum total of individual value of n things) / (total no of things i.e. n)}
Here the formula transforms accordingly to
Now Average of Age = (Sum of Age of all persons / No. of Persons)
x = (Total Age of all persons / 12)
Total Age of all persons = 12x
Let the age of new person entering the group be y yrs
According to question one person having Age = y yrs is added to the group while the person having age =41 years left the group, so the total age now becomes = (12x + y- 41)
And new average becomes = (x + 2)
(i.e. 2 more than the original)
((12x + y - 41) / 12) = (x + 2)
12x + y - 41 = 12x + 24
y = 24 + 41 = 65
y = 65

7.   required term is 21.

8. The Cost price of Mixture is
×Price1) + (Weight2×Price2)} / (Weight1 + Weight2)
{(6.75 × 80) + (8 × 120)} / (80+120)
{540 + 960} / 200
1500/200 = Rs. 7.5/kg
Gain = 20%
Gain% = (Gain × 100)/C.P.
20 = (Gain × 100)/C.P.
(1/5) × C.P. = Gain = S.P. - C.P.
(1/5) × 7.5 = S.P. - 7.5
S.P. = 1.5 + 7.5
S.P. = 9

9.   If P takes 15 days to complete a work
he will complete (1/15)th of the work in a single day
If Q takes 20 days to complete a work
he will complete (1/20)th of the work in a single day
If R takes 30 days to complete a work
he will complete (1/30)th of the work in a single day
Together in a single day amount of work completed = (1/15)+(1/20)+(1/30) = (9/60)
Let P's share of work done = x
x of (9/60) = (1/15)
(x) × (9/60) = (1/15)
x = 4/9
Let Q's share of work done = y
y of (9/60) = (1/20)
y × (9/60) = (1/20)
y = (3/9)
Let R's share of work done = z
z of (9/60) = (1/30)
(z) × (9/60) = (1/30)
z = (2/9)
Distribution of wages as per the work done
P's share = (4/9) × 810 = Rs 360
Q's share = (3/9) × 810 = Rs 270
R's share = (2/9) × 810 = Rs 180
P's Share exceeds Q's share by (360-270) = Rs 90

10
If 4 balls are picked out of 10 balls,
Sample space n(S)=10C4=210
To get two green and two blue balls,
Favourable Case n(E)=3C2×2C2=3
Required probability =n(E)n(S)=3210
= 1/70

Hence, the required probability to get two green and two blue balls would be 1/70.
